“Prana is a poetic celebration of legacy, family, and conscious modernity—an immersive experience that is culturally rich and soulfully made.” —- Studio Rohini Bagla.

Prana is more than just a house; it is a passionate blend of South Indian heritage and modern architecture, as imagined by Rohini Bagla, Founder & Principal Designer, Studio Rohini Bagla. Designed for a South Indian family of four, this three-bedroom home exudes warmth, rootedness, and elegance, with each space reflecting cultural richness and modern life.

A traditional mandir featuring magnificent South Indian-style pillars and calm bells welcomes you, setting a spiritual tone. The living room follows with warm oak furniture and a curved TV unit that bridges the past and present, while integrated brass patties and limewash-finished textured walls give personality. A soft, organic bamboo silk rug adds to the space’s luxurious feel.

The dining area features a stunning wood-and-marble table and chairs crafted from cotton, cane, and wood, ensuring sustainability through thoughtful design. Veneered detailing on doors and sideboards adds refinement. A large balcony, once a dream but now a reality, features patterned tiles and a secret bar, offering a calm location for a perfect gathering.

The daughters’ room exudes a fresh, boho-chic air. Blue PU cabinets contrast with beige headboards and cane decorations, while the soft branches behind the bed represent positivity. The study desk flows into a curved TV unit, which is flanked by limewashed walls and smart inlays, encouraging both creativity and relaxation.

Grey-brown veneers, layered textures, and elegant cabinetry create a serene atmosphere in the main bedroom. A tiny walk-in wardrobe with fluted glass and a dresser represents modern luxury. The bathroom, decorated with white marble and patterned tiles, exudes understated minimalism.

The grandparents’ room strikes a mix between heritage and comfort, with teak veneers, Indian-themed headboards, a jhoola, and a peaceful stone veneer television wall. Their bathroom features terrazzo and subway tiles in an English-inspired colour scheme.

Even the typical bathroom becomes a design feature, with terrazzo, kitkat tiles, and curving basin walls adding whimsical sophistication. All around the house, handcrafted veneer panels and chosen details demonstrate Studio Rohini Bagla’s dedication to intelligent design.
