In ‘Valley of Dreams,’ nature’s embrace meets architectural poetry, crafting a sanctuary where dreams materialise and joy resides in every panoramic view.

The ethereal and intangible dreams weave the fabric of our desires and aspirations. In the heart of Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh, a dream took shape – ‘Valley of Dreams,’ a picturesque holiday home designed by The Works Interiors (TWI). Inspired by the words of Neil Gaiman, the abode stands as a testament to the reality of dreams, manifesting in viewpoints, images, memories, and lost hopes.

Perched on the highest level of a low-rise DLF apartment, the residence embraces the breathtaking beauty of mountain ranges and valleys. The design ethos revolves around framing panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayas and creating an atmosphere that resonates with nature. The clients’ vision, including authentic wood-burning fireplaces and expansive vistas, served as the foundation for TWI’s creative endeavour.

The living space, dining area, den, and two bedrooms are thoughtfully arranged with wide bay windows that offer uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape. The log-cabin-like architecture, featuring a sloping roof, combines modern aesthetics with a warm ambience. Locally sourced wood dominates the interior, gracing the floors, ceilings, and wall panelling, while earthy upholstery and foliage-printed wallpapers enhance the connection with the natural surroundings.

Entering through a statement cobalt blue door, the living room captivates with a central wood-burning fireplace fashioned from brick masonry, radiating a rustic charm. TWI’s Ava chairs, strategically placed near the fireplace and large windows, create a perfect retreat, inviting residents to bask in the valley’s beauty.

In the dining space, sustainability takes centre stage with a table crafted from reclaimed wood, accompanied by Ashton Chairs that seamlessly blend ergonomics and aesthetics. Bay windows double as storage and display areas, showcasing the unique trinkets Kasauli offers.

Journeying to the bedrooms, tranquillity reigns supreme with natural wooden finishes, fluted panelling, and a harmonious blue palette. The master bedroom features a rectangular bed back, ottoman, and lounge chair, all strategically positioned to embrace the serene views. The den, designed as a multifunctional space, exudes warmth with wooden interiors and a balcony opening into the valleys, creating an intimate retreat adorned with memorabilia and art.
