Aqua Homes by Vinithra Amarnathan of Weespaces, tucked away in Bengaluru’s lush Yemlur region, emits a calm, carefree appeal. The home was designed as a haven that reflected the homeowner’s love for the seaside and provided a sense of calm after their hectic professional lives. The design philosophy avoids stereotypes while attracting inspiration from coastal features. The entire space is highlighted by a peachy colour theme of soft pastel blues, sandy beiges, and soft greens, which gives the home a relaxed and natural rhythm. Natural materials like rattan, oakwood, burl wood, and cane perfectly blend with them.
The home begins with a long foyer that gracefully leads into the home’s heart, the enormous living room. FCML’s green-and-white checkered tiles serve as a lively base, with a vintage botanical gallery wall and brass pendant lights from Rangeela Goa. Custom-made furniture in white and warm wood, with overhead lighting, leads a serene refinement to the area, while textures such as rattan, burl veneer, and soft velvet add depth and visceral luxury. Big glass doors lead out to a spacious deck, increasing the living space and boosting the sense of openness. Crisp white walls, oak wood floors, and custom open shelving ensure the home feels airy and illuminated throughout the day.
In the middle of it all is the dining room, surrounded by an exquisite metal-glass curved partition in duck egg blue. A custom oak-topped table with built-in banquette and chairs with cane backs serves as the focal point of the dining room. The kitchen continues this airy language with a delicate blue and white colour palette.
The materials and palette change delicately in the private spaces, with the peaceful coastal influences remaining intact. The master bedroom includes a rattan bed, distressed ceiling beams, and a soft Jaipur Rugs carpet. The nursery, attached to the master, is a small space with a giant Rebel Walls painting and a sleeper couch. In contrast, the guest bedroom is warmer, with dusty rose walls and delicate flower accessories that reflect the home’s softer, romantic side. The powder room, presented in muted olive tones, has a tonal play of tiles and a carved stone sink, combining quiet drama with polished restraint.
