Cinnamon Cove blends grace, warmth, and sophistication
“Our goal was to design a home that feels lived-in yet elevated, breathing with its occupants while rooted in calm.”— Studio Kaleidospace.
Studio Kaleidospace, led by chief designers Daphne Dmello and Nirali Bathia, has unveiled The Cinnamon Cove, a 2,000-square-feet residence in Adyar, Chennai, which elegantly encapsulates the essence of grounded minimalism. The home tells a sophisticated story of modest modern living, with soft textures, serene hues, and meaningful detail.

From the light-filled foyer with oak cabinetry and glass-panelled doors, the room flows organically with a consistent design language. The palette is grounded by natural wood tones, soft greys, and tactile textures that evoke warmth and balance. A built-in bench at the entrance establishes a peaceful atmosphere that lasts throughout.

The living area features a dark wood coffee table set atop a black-and-white graphic rug, with a soft brown sofa serving as the focal point of the space. Large-format grey tiles enhance spatial flow, while discreetly integrated carved flower embellishments, found on shoe cabinets, bedroom panels, and crockery shelves, add a subtle Parsi-French beauty.

The open kitchen, dining, and lounge areas are designed for both aesthetics and functionality. Flat-front cabinetry in muted tones complements lacquered glass storage, and a two-tone breakfast counter with metal stools welcomes informal gatherings. Clever transitions, such as a textured sliding door to the children’s room, demonstrate the studio’s concern for everyday life.

Distressed rugs, vintage lighting, and carved wooden columns lend a global dimension to the casual lounge, while remaining true to the South Indian soul. The dining room complements this with a wooden table, a blue-handled crockery cupboard, and handcrafted flair.

The bedrooms provide respite with soft textures, intelligent storage, and natural finishes. The children’s room is delightful, with built-in daybeds, maroon-trimmed wardrobes, and a bay window that adds playfulness without sacrificing balance.

The Cinnamon Cove is a testament to Studio Kaleidospace’s skill in spatial narrative, blending craftsmanship, clarity, and character. This is more than simply a house; it is a lifestyle designed with intention, presence, and artistic restraint.
