Designers Rashi Bothra & Ruchi Gehani create an ideal location for a contemporary farmhouse that blends rustic beauty with the newest trends in the centre of the countryside.

The modern farmhouse’s chevron black and white flooring and wooden ceiling draw attention to the dramatic entry of the long, elongated passage, which unites the countryside with the chic amenities of the twenty-first century.

In the living room, where the walls and ceilings are kept simple, the softness of the seven windows and the arch doors greet guests and serve as a distinctive element against the wooden flooring and furniture with flowery upholstery.

A cluster of seating pieces in the living area includes a card table, two 3-seater sofas, two wing chairs, a bench, and a centre table that resembles a trunk. A printed rug completes the ensemble. Two brown side tables flank the central sofa.

The space’s arched shelves in the corner are adept at drawing attention to themselves. The TV wall, which breaks up the monotony of arches with its smooth curves and sleek niche at the bottom, also adds texture and plays with the simplicity of the curtains.

With windows on three sides that let in natural light from all directions and textured walls that give an edgy element, the dining area also features a chandelier and fan. We have an unadorned theatre room in the adjacent space.

A linked kitchen with sage green shutters and terrazzo flooring breaks up the basic design. The centre also offers a recreation area with a powder room and spa in front. The bedroom, but not quite. A printed rug, a console, and two hanging lights on either side of the floral-upholstered bed liven up the otherwise monochromatic space that houses the combined bathroom.

The farmhouse’s luxurious outdoor pool and gazebo are designed with deck flooring to accommodate gatherings, further enhancing the rustic atmosphere of the property. Who wouldn’t mind exercising outside in the great outdoors or in an accessible open gym? An alternative strategy is to use the benefits of an open space while planning it outdoors.
