The 4,500-square-foot residence in Worli, Mumbai, crafted by Krish Kothari, CEO & Creative Director at KKD Studio, is a testament to their commitment to comfort and privacy. It incorporates distinct areas for each generation, ensuring that every family member feels at home while also enjoying their personal space.

“A Timeless Abode Where Generations Converge,” The goal of a multigenerational house design project was to make the living quarters comfortable for parents, grandparents, and kids. Creating this home’s design was like curating a dynamic work of art, where the many requirements and dynamics of every age group came together to create a unified area. The main focus was the perfect spatial planning that went into making this design. Even though each person in the house has their own special space, the design elements carefully consider the client’s personality. The choice of materials matches the client’s preferences, resulting in a mood board that authentically captures their way of life. For instance, the colour scheme reflects the client’s preference for subdued tones.

The home’s layout features staff areas, a kitchen, and a self-contained suite for the grandparents. A dining area leads to a formal living space with a bar and breakfast counter. Halls branch off to the parent’s master bedroom with an ensuite study and a private den. Following the hall, a lounge separates the children’s bedrooms, forming a common central space.

The design of this home not only caters to your family’s needs but also to the environment. It employs a variety of materials like paint, leather, and marble, resulting in an eclectic style. The property features a dark, neutral colour palette with beige, taupe, and white tones and some stone elements for highlights. Our sustainability features include water-saving toilets and showers and an automation system that reduces electricity consumption. Additionally, LED lighting is used throughout the house, ensuring that your home is as eco-friendly as it is beautiful.
