Nestled in the heart of Bengaluru, Saldhana Villas, a creation of Meera Pyarelal, the Principal Designer of Temple Town, is a captivating blend of tradition and modernity. With a total square footage of 2000 sq ft, this residence is a testament to the seamless coexistence of three generations within its walls.
The journey through Saldhana Villas begins at the entrance, where an old Kerala door, repurposed and adorned with a custom-made Goan blue and white nameplate, sets the tone for the unique experience that lies within. The residence, designed under the creative direction of Meera Pyarelal, reflects the warmth and respect shared among family members, creating a haven that transcends generational gaps.
The living room serves as the heart of the home, a space where colonial charm meets contemporary flair. Custom-made furniture, carefully curated heirlooms, and a jewel-toned palette create an inviting atmosphere. The transition from the living area to the dining space is seamless, with a classic six-seater dining table surrounded by old urns, a custom-made chandelier, and a collection of plates from Good Earth’s Thierry Journo.
The bedrooms unfold individual stories within this familial tapestry. The mother’s room, adorned with colonial furniture, antique tiles, and watercolour paintings of Kochi, pays homage to her hometown. Conversely, the master bedroom features a cane bed, soothing artwork, and an arched white wardrobe that provides ample storage without compromising space.
The kitchen, painted in a classic lacquered green, is a harmonious blend of modern amenities, discreetly concealing appliances essential for Indian cooking. The family’s youngest members, the two boys, have a space that reflects intelligence and cheerfulness, with a bunk bed and smart storage solutions, complemented by wallpaper from Kalkaari Haath.
